GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME

ROY HORN, R.I.P.

Posted: May 12, 2020

The Board of Trustees of the German-American Hall of Fame (GAMHOF) extends deepest sympathies and prayers to the family of Roy Horn and to his Las Vegas partner, Siegfried Fischbacher. We were most saddened to learn of the death of Roy, age 75, on May 9th.

In recent weeks, we were pleased to see Roy and Siegfried looking well and getting deserved recognition in a full-hour biographic documentary on ABC Television’s “20 – 20” program. This makes Roy’s passing, from the COVID-19 coronavirus all the more shocking.

And no one in attendance at GAMHOF’s induction dinner in 2011 will forget the humorous and inspiring speeches given by Siegfried and Roy. We are proud of you as fellow German-Americans and for all that you have achieved in the USA.

We are certain that the names of Siegfried and Roy will be immortal, as the most successful Las Vegas entertainers of all time, but also as stellar example of what German immigrants to the United States can accomplish.
